Sun Yi is the Director of the Ningbo Government Shanghai Office, and he has recently been given control over the development of Ningbo's transportation and logistics industries. Ningbo is located in Zhejiang Province, one of China's fastest-growing areas. Ningbo is also expected to become an increasingly important area for logistics and transportation systems, once a massive bridge connecting Ningbo to Shanghai is completed in 2008. Sun Yi would like to learn how American transportation and logistics facilities work to handle the massive volume of trade that flows through America's ports. Visiting port cities and logistic industries/companies in the U.S. will be key to his program. Furthermore, Mr. Sun's visits to these cities may provide future opportunities for numerous U.S. companies that are exporting logistics and transportation goods and services. With the development of its transportation infrastructure, the Ningbo government is looking for technologies, expertise, and systems from all around the world to transform Ningbo into an international transportation center.
